The chickens may be less than two weeks old, but their physical appearance is changing dramatically. Our chickens are growing up quickly and we are preparing ourselves for all the inevitable chats with them about the kinds of boys to avoid, whether or not they can shave their legs, and how they definitely will not be getting their ears pierced.

The chickens are learning how to use their wings. It seems one of the most important ways to use your wings is to hurl yourself at another chicken while flapping madly:

We took them out on the lawn today to enjoy the warm sun and learn what pecking in the grass is all about. We surrounded them with a makeshift cardboard wall to keep them from wandering away or getting eaten by prowling tigers.
